Slotland Mobile

Slotland is one of the oldest online gaming sites around having been running since 1998. It’s very much slot focussed and even though there are a few Video Poker and Blackjack style games, these are still more ‘slot-based’ than their land-based counterparts (e.g. in the Video Poker game, the Royal Flush linked jackpot is paid based on a slot random number generator, not on natural card odds). Nevertheless, this site is still very popular thanks to its willingness to accept US players and also down to the excellent support and finance-handling functions.

What’s more Slotland has also been a front runner in providing software that can be used almost anywhere and now they’ve taken a step further by creating software that can run on any Android-powered mobile phone, any device that can access the web (web TV, iPods, Wiis etc.) – in fact pretty much anywhere that you can get internet access!

Software and Games:

In order to provide games that work petty much anywhere, the games offered by Slotland are generally no-download (i.e. served via web browser). The only exception to this is for those playing on Android-powered mobile phones. For these mobile devices Slotland provides simple-to-use installation packages that install the selected games as applications on the device.
Slotland offers around 20 games in total, although this number is constantly growing. Initially this sounds like a small number, but given each game is completely unique there’s still a lot of fun to be had at this site. What’s more the games usually have very clever bonus rounds or features that really make playing fun. The Booster game, for example, allows players every so often to boost their bet by 10. This is risky (a $5 bet becomes $50) but with any winnings also paying x10 the payout can be huge. Other games have bonus rounds that can be activated by getting winning combinations. There are also ‘thinking’ games like Heavy Metal where players can increase or decrease individual line bets using past symbols as an indicator of what is likely to pay off.

All games also offer a linked progressive jackpot. This means any game could spin in the site-jackpot winning combination and with this often standing at over $100,000 there’s always the chance of getting a life-changing win.

Game Presentation:

The overriding objective for the Slotland programming team has been to make available a selection of games that anyone can access from anywhere. This they have most certainly achieved. However, this does mean the graphics used at Slotland are relatively ‘light’ compared to a number of other online casinos. Similarly, sound effects are few and far between (up until recently none of the games had sound effects). Generally though, it’s easy to get over this and the fact the games operate at around a 98% payback means there’s a lot of game play to be had for each deposit made.

Players can bet from around $0.25 / $0.50 per game with maximum bets of around $5/$10. This is generally low but Slotland seems to be all about giving a lot of play for each deposit made. The other thing I like is that most of the pay tables go up to around x50/x100 payout for any single winning combination. This actually means far more decent sized wins spin in compared to higher paying jackpot machines where the big payoffs are offset by very few decent spins coming in during each play session.

Cash, Deposits and Withdrawals:

One word to describe Slotland’s cash handling function is ‘solid’. Since the casino started operating it has been praised for its no-nonsense approach to paying winners. Every Tuesday any withdrawal requests for all players are processed either via Check or via eWallet. This does mean any Wednesday winners have to wait 6 days to be paid but it’s good to know exactly where you stand with your winning withdrawal requests. Similarly, those with itchy fingers may want to play late on a Monday knowing any winnings will be processed almost immediately!

Deposits can be made in set amounts ($25, $50, $100, $200) using credit card, a selection of eWallets (NeTeller and Moneybookers) or wire transfer. Generally I’ve had no issue depositing here and thanks to some clever partnering with telephone service providers, Slotland are able to charge credit cards in a manner that should stop banks raising red flags at deposit stage. Although this may sound slightly concerning, it’s actually a positive sign of the casino’s willingness to get US players up and running without issue.

Bonuses and Terms and Conditions:

Slotland is famed for making a player’s deposits stretch further and this is exemplified by the $1000 joining bonus offered (100% of a first deposit and 50% on each next 9 deposits). Similarly, every month players are offers bonus deposit offers and free money is regularly handed out. For example, every time a cumulative $1000 deposit is made Slotland awards players a free $100 bonus. These bonuses often come with very low wagering conditions and even though players might not always win, even small deposits can be stretched out for hours at this site.

Customer Support:

Customer support is great and although only offered by email, every time I’ve emailed I’ve received a response in literally 5 minutes. The support team are also really personable and although they are dealing with thousands of player accounts, players are always made to feel individual and special. This is definitely a big plus for this site.

Other Comments and Summary:

Slotland isn’t going to be to everyone’s tastes. The site basically offers a selection of simple slot games. However, if you want to play on the move or on something other than a PC then Slotland starts to excel. Throw in the regular free bonuses, lightning-quick support and solid cash-handling and it really starts to shine. Indeed, I’ve played here for many years and had some really nice wins along the way. Hitting the jackpot is obviously the one people dream of but at Slotland you can be sure of some nice winnings along the way. If you fancy dipping your toe in the water of mobile gambling, this site is definitely one to try out.
