iGaming in Pennsylvania Grows, Revenue Is Up 10.7%
Pennsylvania’s gambling revenue grew 10.7% year-on-year following an expansion of the local iGaming market. Total commercial revenue was $558.7 million, ahead of $504.7 million in the same month of 2024. The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) confirms that the trends from the last several months continue, with sports betting and table games remaining stable and land-based casinos and slots revenue dropping.
PGCB Reports iGaming Revenue Surge
The overall revenue was close to this March’s record $574.5 million – only 2.8% separated them. The total from iGaming, including slots, table games, and online poker, amounted to $227.7 million. Numbers show a 31.3% growth from last year and are just 4.4% behind March 2025.
The OGCB reports that players showed great interest in online slots, as revenue peaked at $169.5 million. Online table games generated $55.9 million, and online poker’s gains dropped by 2.8%, totaling $2.3 million.
The iGaming sector is led by Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course, which earned $83.2 million. It’s followed by Valley Forge Casino Resort and Rivers Casino Philadelphia, with revenues of $66.7 million and $35.8 million, respectively.
Sports Wagering Profit Remains Solid
Compared to last year, April’s handle from sports betting increased by 10.14%, reaching $711.5 million. The taxable revenue was $42.5 million, with $41.2 million coming from online sportsbooks and $1.4 million from retail. The market leader is FanDuel, which partners with Valley Forge Casino Resort. The company published $20.1 million in gross revenue of a $269.8 million handle.
The second place was for DraftKings and Hollywood Casino at the Meadows, which generated a $12.1 million revenue of a $185.6 million Handle. Bet365, which is linked to Presque Isle Downs and Casino, got third place with a $1.9 million handle from a $34.2 million handle. ESPN Bet and BetMGM were also close, earning $1.7 million and $1.5 million, respectively
Land-Based Gambling Slows Down
Retail analysis shows that slots are the main source of gambling revenue in the state, bringing in $203.1 million. Yet, their performance decreased by 1.2% in comparison to April last year. On the other hand, table games generated $80.6 million, up by 2.8% from 2024. Interest in video lottery terminals also dropped by 3.55%, while fantasy sports rose 2.3% to $1.3 million.
