Johan Jardevall, CEO of Wiraya, said: “Operators are waking up to the reality of responsible gambling, and transparent and proactive action is required. Videoslots have rightly recognized to address this case adequately, you must choose a holistic approach, focusing on prevention across all classes of customers, not just those at the immediate risk.
“The latest regulation is key, and indeed simply reaching out to players with ineffective traditional marketing or ill-equipped call centers is not enough. You need a fast, targeted, and highly sophisticated solution, supported by full reporting and audit trails. As a fully managed service to support our technology, that’s what Videoslots is benefiting from as part of this deployment.”
The initial deployment targets players from 10 major linguistic groups. “Creating and promoting a safe, secure, and fun environment for players is fundamental to us. With Wiraya, we can now interact in a new and proactive way to help our players,” commented Ulle Skottling, COO of Videoslots.

Ukraine Casino Bill Passes its First Reading
The Ukranian parliament passed the first reading of the country’s Casino Bill, which included Sports Betting. This is a monumental step for the Eastern European country with one of the most stringent anti-gambling rules in the world.
The Bill was only required a simple majority to proceed to the next reading. 260 of the 450 unicameral parliamentarians voted in favor of passing the bill to the next stage. The bill seeks to legalize land-based casinos, Online gambling, and sports betting in five start hotels only. The license would be issued based on the size of the casino. Small casinos (200-250) rooms would pay UAH41.7 million ($1.72 million), while those with more than 250 rooms will pay $2.6M for licenses.
Pari Match, an online gaming bookmaker, said, “The adoption of Bill 2285-D in its first reading is the first step towards creating a fair and transparent gambling market, which will, in turn, attract investment and introduce new technology to the country,” Pari-Match added, “Once legalized, the market will create thousands of jobs, contribute to both state and local budgets, lead to an increase in tourism, and will help to counter corruption in professional sports. Also, the increased tax revenues generated will provide much-needed funds to support culture, medicine, and sports in Ukraine.”
What’s In For The Ukrainian Economy?
If the bill is ratified into law, it will facilitate the creation of as many as 20 hotel-casinos as well as 10 licensed internets platforms. Casinos will be monitored by a particular department set by the government, and the gambling age is set at 21.
The move was backed up by IMF’s managing director Kristilina Georgieva terming it as impressive progress on President Zelensky’s government. She recommended the President “for the impressive progress that he and his government have made in the past few months in advancing reforms and continuing with sound economic policies.” Ukraine is expected to mint more than $200 million annual taxes and licensing fees if the bill proceeds to become law.
